Robins AFB B125 Southeast Annex
CONTRACTOR: Semper Tek, Inc.
PROJECT OWNER: US Army Corps of Engineers
LOCATION: ROBINS AFB, GA
BUDGET: $ 4.6 MILLION
COMPLETION: 2021
The Robins Air Force Base Building 125 is a 1941 era aircraft maintenance facility currently used for C5 transport aircraft maintenance operations. The Southeast Annex, which was an addition to the original structure, is a three-story office building composed of concrete masonry exterior walls, concrete floor slabs, and a minimal sloped wood truss roof system. The annex connects two stair tower structures that are adjacent to the hanger and were part of the original construction.
The interior of the annex and towers will be completely renovated for office space for up to approximately 75 persons with a new passenger/freight elevator. Some construction will occur in the hangar, limited to equipment rooms and equipment mezzanines. The new elevator requires structural retrofit design at the floors and foundations, working within the parameters of the existing construction. Design requirements include UFGS and UFC.
This project is a design-build type and is being done as Cornerstone led JV with our partner Semper Tek, Inc. Cornerstone is responsible for complete A/E design services including construction management services during construction.
