Cornerstone Engineering, Inc. is an award-winning engineering consulting and construction firm that works with government and private-sector clients to build new facilities that stand the test of time and to strengthen aging facilities. With an accomplished staff of engineers and designers who represent the company’s commitment to serve its communities, Cornerstone has forged lasting relationships with its clients over its 19 years in business.

The company has built its reputation by solving complex challenges in water, wastewater and building sectors. Cornerstone was among the first in the nation to use Fiber Reinforced Polymer, a strengthening technology that extends useful life of aging infrastructure. As a result, Cornerstone is sought after by clients from around the country who need smart thinking and innovative solutions for complex projects.

The firm serves more than a dozen states in the Midwest, Southeast and other areas across the country. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, Cornerstone also has offices in Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, and Arizona.

» President and Founder

Mr. Subram received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1987 from Thiagarajar Engineering College, India. Upon graduation, he worked as a lecturer and later attained a Project Engineer position in India. Mr. Subram then moved to the U.S. in 1992 to attend graduate school at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he graduated with an M.S. in Structural Engineering. After graduating, he took a consulting job in Louisville, Kentucky. He decided to step out in faith and use his God-given skills and talents to make a difference in the community and in the industry. By offering innovative, value-added design approaches, Mr. Subram is able to extend the lifespan of existing facilities/infrastructure to the owners, while also designing quality, new facilities. Born from this innovative design approach was Cornerstone Engineering Inc. in 2003.

Mr. Subram has successfully completed over 400 projects for Government, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Utility, and Municipal clients located throughout a multi-state area as well as overseas. He has been involved in projects for the Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District, Louisville Water Company and Louisville Metro Government to name a few in Louisville, where the company is headquartered. Mr. Subram’s specialties are in the areas of structural design, inspection, restoration, strengthening, value engineering and planning. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, International Concrete Repair Institute, American Concrete Institute, Structural Engineers Association of Kentucky, National Society of Professional Engineers, Society of American Military Engineers, American Civil Engineers Mentor program.
