Cedar Creek Effluent Flume Upgrade

The Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District wanted to expand the capacity of the Effluent Flume Channel at the Cedar Creek Water Quality Treatment Center. Cornerstone was responsible for the structural design of the different components that were involved in this expansion. Part of the project consisted of improving the existing flume channel structure by providing a larger Parshall Flume and an updated inlet area, both of which required some structural upgrades to the existing concrete. A new flume channel structure was also designed to match the existing. Cornerstone provided a knockout wall at the west end of the channel for further expansion in the future. A diversion box structure was designed to house slide gates and support piping needed for the new process flow. All structures were designed to have aluminum plank covers. Cornerstone has an ongoing contract for Construction Administration and Special Inspections for this project.
