In order to provide an improved and safer treatment process, the Louisville Water Company proposed to design and construct a new Sodium Hypochlorite Building on the existing campus of the Crescent Hill Water Treatment Plant. Cornerstone provided structural analysis (including FEM , structural design, structural drafting, and structural specification preparation services for this new two-story reinforced concrete frame structure. The proximity of adjacent structures had to be considered in the design of the new facility. The structure is located adjacent to two existing buildings on the North side and an existing softening basin on the South side. Additionally, Cornerstone provided project management and structural special inspections for the new building while under construction.
